After booking a flight, if any passenger has a change of plans, then they can always receive their money back by canceling the ticket. However, you must read the refund policy to get details regarding the terms and conditions. A passenger can use different mediums to request a refund, but you need to make sure to do it before there are less than 3 hours left for the departure. All the airlines offer a full refund for the flights canceled within 24 hours of the reservation.
There are three possible mediums through which a passenger can get a refund for their flight. You can go through the given mediums to learn about the process for using these mediums:
Mode 1: Request for a refund online
To quickly get a refund for the flight, use the "Manage Booking" options on the airline's website. You have to type a few details and follow the steps to cancel the ticket. Once the cancellation is confirmed, the airline will take a few days to process the refund. The complete procedure for requesting a refund online is mentioned below:
Mode 2: Dial the airline's phone number
You can also speak with a live executive at the airline through a phone call to receive a refund for the flight. Share the flight details with the live person, and they will assist with the procedure. Given are the instructions to get a hold of customer service via phone call:
Mode 3: Get to the Airport
When you are not able to request a refund through any of the above methods, then the last possible mode medium is through the airport. Get to the airline's counter at the airport and provide the flight details to the live person. They will cancel your reservation and also help you with the refund.
The time to process the refund might differ from airline to airline. The average time it will take is around 15 working days, and the passengers will receive the amount through the original mode of payment. If you have made the booking via cash, then it might take a little longer. To get any further information or for help regarding any of the airline services, get through customer service.
